💪 Madison reminds us what this lifestyle is REALLY about and is an inspiration to so many women struggling to just feel better.   Movement is power.  Prioritizing your wellbeing matters more than what gets talked about.  If you’re struggling, talk about it and get help. #mentalhealthmatters

Madison says: "Just over a year ago, I decided enough was enough. I had been at rock bottom for so long I couldn’t remember how long I had been there. I am always told I smile all the time, but that smile tends to hide a lot. I don’t like to talk about me or my feelings, so instead I smile and pretend everything’s ok. It’s easier than having to explain that I feel depressed or anxious over something dumb or at times, nothing at all.”

Madison moved to a new city due to her boyfriend’s job relocation and Madison’s mental health suffered. Here she hit her rock-bottom and in the process put on 30lbs.

Madison describes how she made important health changes, “I started doing things I love to do with people I loved even more.  I realized that I needed friends that would support me and were people that I aspired to be.

I created a support group that encouraged me to be my best me, all the time. I got back in the gym. Working out and sports have been the focus of most of my life.  My unstable mental health took this away from me. I found a gym that supports me and makes me love the person I am.”

Madison created life habits that would better serve her. She ensured she surrounded herself with people that encouraged healthier habits and genuinely cared if she was having a good day.

Madison says, “Most importantly, I learned to love me. I learned that you can still be successful in life while battling mental health. I learned I shouldn’t be ashamed of it and think that my dreams would be stopped by it. I learned that I can say I’m having a bad day with no explanation and that doesn’t mean I failed. I learned that I am worth it. I learned that it’s ok to be proud of me.”

“The difference between my smile now and a year ago is that now I truly mean the joy it shows. I finally feel like me, and damn does it feel good. I was once embarrassed, but now I’m not. There’s still days I wake up and feel some type of way, but now I feel like I have a purpose and wake up wanting to be more than whatever it is pulling me down. Need someone to talk to? Sis, I’m here for you. Never forget your worth❤️ (these smiles brought to you by self-love, the best girl gang/family/friends around, and a whole year of figuring out what helps me and not relying on meds)”.

The before/after may show the physical result of her health changes, but what always matters the most is the transformation from the inside out. A smile that shows that shows the true happiness of living well.
